John grew up farming and ranching before completing a Masters degree in Public Administration. He worked as a state Legal Analyst, and served as the executive director of Idaho’s Council on Developmental Disabilities serving for Governors Evans, Andrus and Batt. He taught graduate level classes as an adjunct professor at Boise State University, and in 2002 Governor Kempthorne appointed him to the Idaho Fish and Game Commission.

Since 1983 John has successfully lobbied hundreds of legislators and legislative leaders. He has conducted negotiations with gubernatorial staff, state agencies, and special interest groups. As a result he has won numerous state appropriations, and guided into law many pieces of substantive public policy for his clients. John has built a positive reputation on keeping his word, doing the right thing, and protecting his clients’ reputations. He enjoys easy access to statewide decision makers and legislators, and is recognized for his expertise in the legislative process.
